About Me

Life is full of images and stories… You just have to be present to observe them. I am a photographer who looks for these visual nuggets and thrives on weaving them into photo essays. I flourish in travelling to unusual places, meeting new people, and experiencing new cultures to create visual stories. My work spans numerous continents, ranging from Africa, Asia, and Latin America, as well as stories found close to home in Southern California and throughout the Southwest. My work is guided by empathy and intention. I seek to create images that move beyond documentation — photographs that listen as much as they speak, that invite reflection, awaken compassion, and remind us of our capacity to see each other more clearly. I am empathetic and am looking to subtly vs overtly share horrific stories (such as the mistreatment and mutilation of people with Albinism in sub-Saharan Africa or the crisis of children that have been orphaned due to the AIDs crisis in Mozambique) to make challenging messages more accessible to a wider audience. This approach is part of my long-term campaign to raise awareness of these issues and effect systemic change.
